Information on Viagra


  • Viagra is an FDA approved oral treatment for erectile dysfunction. It is expected to help about 70% of impotent men obtain an erection.
  • Viagra requires sexual stimulation to work. Viagra will not increase sex drive.
  • You cannot take Viagra if you are on any nitroglycerine type medication. (for example: Isordil, Imdur, Nitropaste, sublinguil nitroglycerin).
  • Viagra should be taken 1 to 2 hours before sexual activity. Its beneficial effect can last up to 8 hours.
  • Potential side effects are: headache, flushing, heartburn, nasal congestion and temporary changes in color vision.
  • You should not use Viagra simultaneously with other treatments for impotence, (for example, penile injections, MUSE and vascular constriction devices).

VIAGRATM (sildenafil citrate) IS CONTRADICATED IN PATIENTS WHO ARE TAKING ORGANIC NITRATES IN ANY FORM, AT ANY TIME.

Consistent with its known effects on the nitric oxide/cGMP pathway, VIAGRA was shown to potentiate the hypotensive effects of nitrates, and its administration to patients who are concurrently using organic nitrates in any form is therefore contraindicated.

VIAGRATM IS INDICATED FOR THE TREATMENT OF ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION
